Partnerships and Strategic Alliances

PHIERS.org has spent years studying the factors that keep health care cost rising for “inappropriate” reasons.  3 key issues emerged that heavily influenced the types of strategic relationships we have pursued.  The issues are:

  • Data and care fragmentation
  • Rising demand for safety net support services
  • Inability to negotiate for lower drug, device and private insurance rates

For these reasons, PHIERS has spent nearly a decade cultivating key relationships and strategic alliances that address these challenges in a way that protects the public’s interest.

  • By working in solidarity with select community organizations and small businesses with a social mission, we will create meaningful jobs to eliminate data silos and fragmented care, while improving patient adherence to care plans.  These groups include, but are not limited to:
    • Public health and teaching hospital systems and academic researchers
    • Community organizations, safety net programs and facilities
    • Professional associations and advocacy programs
  • By partnering with pioneers in the academic research community, we believe we can improve awareness about and access to new treatment options, which increases competition and drives down costs.
  • Finally, by using the same infrastructure as groups listed below, we know we are in good company and able to share data on behalf of veterans, dual eligibles and other costly health care consumers.  These groups include, but are not limited to:
    • U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
    • World Health Organization
    • More than 1200 hospitals, clinics and nursing homes across the nation

Working in partnership with members of the academic research community, we will help raise awareness about studies and clinical trials that can improve population health. In this way, we can accelerate the discovery and validation of less costly, toxic and/or disruptive treatment options – and thus exert downward pressure on rising healthcare costs.

Products and services will be readily available through the PHIERSale marketplace and the PHIERPlace resource matching service, drastically increasing the public’s awareness about the new options, support systems and services.  This will increase competition for inappropriately priced drugs and medical devices whenever possible, while passing the savings on to programs that will increase the solvency of Medicare/Medicaid and Social Security.

More will be shared on this wonderful, life-saving opportunity as PHIERS gains traction with public health and hospital systems, academic researchers and the communities they serve.  We will accomplish these goals working in collaboration with pharmaceutical and biotech companies that value people more than profits.
